Hi guys,
Is it possible to either archive and start from scratch or somehow reduce the size of the domlog.nsf file?
It’s currently over 1gb.
Thanks.

If you want to do all of this without shutting down the server then you can open DomLog.nsf abd do a File/Database/NewCopy and make a copy of the database to a new location (probably to a local drive). Then on the production copy of domlog.nsf on the Replication Setting change the space saver setting to say 7 days. Then let things work and the Domino server will clear out everything other than the last 7 days. After this happens the go back into DomLog.nsf and remove the space saving setting.
or
Our Worklflo!Log Analyzer takes the hits from DomLog or the text files and decomposes them into thier component parts and drills back into the DB structure to return real human readable information and you can create filters to remove meaningless repetative hits (say to a js menuing code). Then once the hit has been processed by the Log Analyzer it is no longer needed in DomLog.nsf. Our recommendation is that with Workflo!Log Analyzer that you set the space saver settings on DomLog.nsf to something in the range of 7 - 10 to allow you to fix any problems if they occure before you start losing data. Then Archive or purge the Log Analyzer on 45 days. The Statistical Summaries are not purged or archived so they can be kept as long as you want.
By keeping DomLog relatively small the HTTP is much more efficeint.

BTW 1 Gig for domlog is not that bad. I have lots of calls where Domlog exceeds 4Gig. Now you have a real problem because you probably can’t even open it.

I’m pretty sure you need to down the server - delete (or rename for archiving) and start the server again.
The server will create a new domlog.nsf on startup

Thanks Steve, can anyone confirm this before I do it?

Yep, bring down the server. Remove/rename the old log and restart server. Why not restart the server on a weekly basis, and rename/zip the old log?
You will then have a smaller log to deal with.
oh…and dont forget the 7/10 day delete.
