I can tell if a user opened a file attachment on a document from info in Domino Web Server Log. Is there a way to tell if a user downloaded (to their PC) a file attached to a document from info in Domino Web Server Log ?

I don’t think you can tell the difference, and to the Domino server, the two events (opening an attachment and downloading it locally) would be the same… All the domino server knows is that it transferred a file to the browser, it can’t tell if the browser launched the PDF viewer inside the browser, or if it was a “save file as” type connection to save the PDF locally.
Hope this helps.

I do not believe that it is possible to tell what the client does with the download, nor for that matter even know if the download was successful. However, you can generally tell by the length of time the ‘page’ is open can tell if the download went through.
Trying to make sence out of the Domino URL can be a problem. As a result most Web Traffic Analyzers can not really tell you much about what is going on. That is why we created Workflo!Log Analyzer which is a 100% Notes/Domino Web Traffic Analyzer that takes the HEX URL and drills back into the database to return human readable information.
