Domino Web Access - one user only getting halfway in

Person document has:

First name: John

Middle name:

Last name: Doe

User name: John Doe/xxx

              John H Doe/xxx

              John H Doe

              John Doe

Altername name:

Shortname/UserID: JHDoe

The user was originally set up as John H Doe but, once he started working here, wanted just John Doe thus the reason for two variations of his name. Using Domino Web Access, we type in user name of “doe”, “jhdoe”, “jdoe” or “john” with the correct password and the screen changes to “Redirecting…” which it should do. BUT then we get a white screen (tried this in both IE6&IE7 and Firefox) with a yellow box stating “Server Login, You are not authorized to perform this operation, Please type your user name and password”, and then two boxes for user name and password - no matter what we type in them (variations of user name, correct password) we don’t get any further. The URL in the Address bar up above is pointing to the correct database! So far, he seems to be the only user with this problem.

Any ideas as to why he can’t access his e-mail database?

The timing of the error suggests that it’s the ACL of the mailfile that isn’t in line with John’s new name.

Did the rename go through properly and modify the ACL?

If it’s all fine there, check the server’s Deny Access group, but I would have thought you’d error before the redirection if that was the case.

Subject: I think you got it!

Hi Kirsty! Thanks for the response!

His db’s ACL had “John H Doe/xxx” with Manager rights. I added “John Doe/xxx” and got in via DWA.

(He is not in the server’s Deny Access group in any format of his name.)

THANK YOU!!!
