Domino Web Access mail not being delivered

My problem: e-mails composed using iNotes don’t get delivered.

Mail replication is set up between Server A and Server B. A is our main mail server and is inside our internal network. B is a web server and is in our DMZ. According to tests, users’ experience and the Replication Events log, the mail files replicate between A and B correctly.

When an e-mail is composed on B using iNotes, it gets replicated from B to A, shows up in the Sent folders of B and A but A does not deliver the e-mail.

When an e-mail is composed on B using Notes client (my test), it gets replicated from B to A, shows up in the Sent folders of B and A delivers the e-mail.

Any thoughts?

Replication is not mail routing. THe router on server B must be running and have a way to either transfer the mail to A for delivery or route directly from server B. IF the servers are in the same Domino Name Network (DNN) you don’t need a connection document but they must be able to commuinicate via LAN/WAN an share a common protocol…most likely TCPIP.Check the mail.box on server B…this is where the mail sits while it is awaiting delivery and/or transfer. You should find the messages there…if needed you can cut and paste from mail.box on B to mail.box on A to get them to route. You will need to examine your topology to find out why the mail doesn’t go from B to A.

hope this helps

Hi,

Abxair Admin is right. But I just want to add some more light.

When you use a client to send mail, you MUST change your location document.

If you location points to “Server A”, your mail will allways being sent through “Server A”. Even if you open a database on “Server B” and send a mail from there.

Besides, try to send message using iNotes from “Server B” and “Server A”.
