Hi everyone,
I will be shortly upgrading my Domino server from 5.0.8 to 6.0.1 (or .2 if it’s out).
Does anyone have any recommendations or gotchas? We have a fairly simple environment with only one server.
I have a copy of the Redbook “Upgrading to Notes and Domino 6”, if anyone has any other recomended reading, that would be great.
thanks,
Dan

I just made the jump to 6.0.1 CF1 and The only issue I have is with Directory Assistance. We use it to connect to an external LDAP server, there is an issue with duplicate users and passwords. Lotus is currently looking into it for us. This was not a problem in R5.

We did the same jump about 2 months ago. The upgrade went fine. The only problem we had after the upgrade were some of our decs connections to our chips system on the AS/400 were problematic and Lotus support is still trying to resolve this with us. If you aren’t using decs it shouldn’t be an issue.
We upgraded a Test server running W2K server and it was much quicker than the upgrade to Domino for AS/400.
I would check out the other posts on this site that reference the compact task after the upgrade. This converts your databases to the lates ODS version. They are very helpfull.

This is one of them.

This is another one I found helpful.
Good Luck.

If you plan to automate the install to your users, I posted some things we found to work well on my blog http://chris.brotherhoodmutual.com Click February on the Archive block.
We sent the users an email with a button to initiate the upgrade, which did an unattended install and then updated their template.
Good luck with the upgrade
