Domino upgrade from 6.5.2 to 6.5.4

Hi ,

We recently upgraded our Lotus Domino from 6.5.2 to 6.5.4 on our Windows 2003 Server.

Ever since our 2 hourly TDP LOGARCHIVE takes approx. 10 times longer and our weekly

SELECTIVE Domino backup takes up to 20 times longer.

(Also Windows service Lotus Domino does not shut down gracefully and the server needs rebooting, this being the initial reason for the upgrade.)

Has anybody else experienced this ?

Our Windows 2003 Server OS has NOT been upgraded to SP1 , does anybody know if this matters ?

How long do you wait for Domino to shut down before you kill it off? Before we installed Windows 2003 SP1, Domino would take 20+ minutes to shut down - this is a documented known problem.

After installing Windows 2003 SP1, Domino now only takes a couple of minutes to shut down.

Julie,

The longest we have given it is 40 minutes b4

rebooting.

Lets hope upgraded to SP1 is the answer.

Thanks

Subject: Windows 2003 Server SP1 and Domino 6.5.4 shutdown ok

Hi @allin the past we had the same problem (shutdown takes nearly one hour to end all domino tasks).

After we updated our servers from “Win 2003” to “Win 2003 SP1” and Domino from “6.5.3 FP1” to “6.5.4” it works… Shutdown in 10 Seconds as expected. The Shutdown is also ok after some days domino is running.

Julie,

Just one thing , were you on Domino 6.5.4 first before upgrading to 2003 SP1 ?

Thanks

Hi Bill

I installed SP1 on one server that was running R6.5.4. The rest of our servers were running R6.5.2 (which were upgraded to R6.5.4 a couple of weeks later).

Hi,

As Julie says, this is a very know problem (shutdown takes forever) when running Win2003. Try to contact Lotus for more information - they may have a patch or give you a reference to Microsoft.
