Domino Upgrade and BES Upgrade

Hello all,

Current configuration is BES 4.1.2 and Domino Server 7.0.3 running on the same box. We want to perform a hardware upgrade and split the services at the same time.

  1. Move Domino to new hardware

  2. Move BES to new hardware

  3. Upgrade Domino to v.8.1

  4. Upgrade BES to 4.1.5

Step 1 finished with no problem. But now I am trying to setup a second Domino server (not mail) to host the BES services, and I am getting some problems. Created the Server.id file moved it the BES server. performed a Domino App server installation. During the config phase of the installation, the installation goes to about 10% and fails, with the message “cannot contact server”.

Any ideas?

Also, has anyone tried to run BES 4.1.4 with Notes 8.x (4.1.5 is suppose to come out on april 15th)?

Is the new server listed in the LocalDaomainServers group list?

Can you ping any of your Domino servers from this new Server?
