I am having a problem with one of our Lotus Notes Servers. Every time the logged on Windows User logs off, the Lotus Notes Server shuts down cleanly. It is quite confusing, because there is no difference between Domain-Users and Local-Useres logging off. I tribble checked the user account the domino server is runnig at, it is “Local System Account”, so this is definitively NOT the reason. Furthermore the checkbox “Allow service to interact with desktop” is checked.
Does anybody has a hint? Would be very appreciated.
we recognized the same issue as you did - and it’s really unexplainable. the server quits immediatley at logoff although domino has been started as windows-service under the local system account.now we’re running domino without the property “allow service to interact with desktop” but this is just a workaround not a solution…
We are seeing this issue as well, and it’s definately introduced with the install of R6. I’m figuring it’s either a new bug in NSERVICE.EXE, or maybe the install overwrites an updated Microsoft DLL or other file needed for correct operation. Since I’m doing this as well, you might try re-installing Win2k SP3, and the later security update patches to see if this helps correct the problem. I’ll report back what I find.
Subject: Domino shutdown when User Logoff (UPDATED)
To All,(UPDATED)
As stated in my previous post, I re-installed Win2k SP3 and that seemed to correct the issue with the Domino service shutting down at user logoff. However, after I tried logging out a few times, the problem reappeared. Guess this wasn’t the trick.
