Hi,
I have an nsf on a test server referencing a shared resource [Create > Resource > Insert Resource] (its a CSS file, JS file, and HTML file) on another database also on the test server. When I migrate both databases to our production environment, the database (the one referencing the shared resources) still preserves the original references to the database on the test server. Is it possible to have these references change when migrating across servers? In other words, is it possible to have relative references for these shared resources rather than having them hard coded (with the server name and path)?
Cheers,
Peter

What you can do is create a database to hold such things as documents (so you can edit them in the client… remember to account for this in your view selection), or on pages. Then create your pointers in the html header using the url to that database and item (document or page). It gets away from using Resources, but, while useful, the resource concept wasn’t thought out all that well when implemented in Domino. This goes for inserting ANY item from another database, for that matter.

This works for JS files as well as CSS but not for HTML files. It would be nice to have some type of “server side include” functionality to include HTML snippets that get reused over and over again. The only other solution I can come up with is to have javascript (which can be a shared resource) write the HTML. The only problem is that it gets written browser-side and might not be compatible with some other javascript already written on the page.
