One of my Domino Servers an iSeries running Sametime 6.5.1 wont start. I get the following error:
Directory Assistance failed opening Primary Domino Directory names.nsf. This database is currently being used by someone else. In order to share a notes database all users must use a Domino Server instead of a fileserver.

It’s possible that something on the iSeries has that file locked. Try running the RLSIFSLCK command against the IFS file that is stated to be locked.

Thanks for your recommendation the RLSIFSLCK worked like a charm. Server was up in minutes after I issued the command.

Hi there,the primary domino directory (names.nsf) is usualy located on the local server, so there is no need to configure it in the da. Start the nlnotes.exe in the donio servers program folder (it’s a notes client), open the da.nsf and at least disable the entry for names.nsf.
