I am trying to install Domino Server R6.5.2 on a Windows 2003 Server. We need it in order to install and run Blackberry Enterprise Server 4.0. Our existing Notes network consists of 3 Domino Servers, all running R5.0.8 - one is our Administrative Server, one is our Mail and Application Server and the third one contains replicas of our mail and databases, which are accessable to our employess via the web. Our plan is to upgrade these servers to R6.5.2 in a few months.
We registered the server and then ran set up. Setup completes only 10% and then stops with an error message saying that the server is not responding. This is the first time we’ve installed a new server. I was under the impression that you can run R6.5 in an R 5.x network. Is this not true? Any ideas on why setup fails?
No, but they have to be able to communicate with one another. Usually, when I see this problem, the servers can’t talk. Is the new server in LocalDomainServers group?
And you have installed the Domino software, you just can’t configure it, right?
I suppose that the answer to your problem ist not so easy. There is an excellent IBM redbook about upgrading to Notes 6. You will find all your answers there. Here is the link:
