Domino Server Console not displaying activity

l am running Domino 7.0.2 on Windows 2000 server. The problem is the server console does not show any activity on the server, although everything is running fine(Users are able to log and work from their workstations). The server console just remains blank with a > prompt. However if l go to the events4.nsf database, l am able to see all events on the server. How can l make my console display all activities. Can someone assist please. Also how can l create an internet password for a user who does not have one. l would like the user to be uthenticated when accessing the server through the web interface.

Are you physically sitting at the server when you’re observing the lack of activity on the server console, or are you viewing it remotely?

Do you see the same thing (ie nothing) when you watch the server via the administrator client?

Does the server respond to command line input? If you type “sh ta”, for example, does it A)display what you’re typing at the prompt and B)visibly respond to the command? If the answer to either A or B is no, do the command and its response show up normally in log.nsf?

In answer to your question about internet passwords, are you just wanting to give one user who doesn’t already have an internet password some kind of default password or something? You can do that simply by editing their person document and typing in whatever you’d like in the “Internet Password” field on the Basics tab.

Thanks Aion, yes no activity shows on either the physical server console or the administrator client. The server does show and respond to commands. for e.g if you type sh server, it shows the command and outputs the results on the console or administrator client. Yes the commands and outcome show up in the log.nsf file.
