Domino server 6.5

Notice on the Lotus homepage this is released, it talks about integrated IM on the client, does the server also have this integrated or do you still need smaetime server?

So with my 20 free licenses as part of the deal, are they any use to me? Or do I still need Sametime?

I was told by Lotus that Sametime functionality is built into 6.x Domino servers, you just need client licenses to make it work. There is no separate server install or licensing.

Hum, I may be wrong, but i think you NEED a sametime server (separate from Domino, cause Sametime 3.1 currently requires a 6.02 domino server not a 6.5)

as for license, I know 20 license are free, don’t know if it means u still have to buy the sametime server

Subject: You need Sametime Server, but no Sametime server license

Sametime is licensed per user, not per server. So while you still need to install a separate Sametime-server, you don’t need to pay for it. If you have more than 20 users, you will need to buy additional Sametime userlicenses.
We’ve run some Sametime pilots, and usually we used an old server or even PC to install the sametime server on. So with twenty free licenses and an old pc, it’s quite easy to setup a pilot, to experience the IM integration. Wich is really great!

Has been answered before - Sametime is licensed by user, not server.
