Our Domino server is compacting our mail databases every Tuesday at 12 midday, but I can’t find where this is scheduled (as I want to turn this off). Any ideas?
I have checked:
The notes.ini - there is no ServerTasksAt running compact
Program docs in the NAB - there are two compact processes scheduled - one at 11pm every night (mail database only) and one at 1230am on sun, tues, thurs (all databases). I have tried changing the times for both of these.

Hi Adam, have you gotten anywhere with this? I just noticed one of our servers running the task at 10AM today…not scheduled either.
########Additional Info############
Based on previous post…if you ENABLE “Archiving will be performed on user’s local workstation” the SCHEDULE TAB becomes available. I then noticed Frequency was set to weekly Monday at 10AM on ours. I DISABLED the schedule “Enable Client based scheduling archiving”, and then went back and reset “Archiving will be performed…” to server.

Note: Regardless of what IBM says, there is no SERVER fix for this, although the client version may come into play (which it seems they do). We’re running 6.0.3 servers and had this problem. Evidently the fix is that you must upgrade to at least 6.0.2 client versions.
See this technote… it’s a very bad thing, since it has brought down our servers multiple times until this was discovered (based on default Tuesday settings). Starting hundreds of compacts simultaneously is never a good thing.

This posting could be the one I have been search for the last 12 months. Bravo for finding the Technote Jerry. I’ve applied the fix within and am on tenter hooks until next Tuesday.

The next Tuesday came and no luck.Even though I’ve employed the work around and am using the latest release (6.5.1), the compact tasks are still started. Any help will be much appreciated.
