Domino installer wont install on Ubuntu

Hi  - I know this config is not supported by IBM…Yet ? - but I am going to ask anyway. Lets see what comes out of this…I’ve got a virtualization server with 2 xeons 5500, 12 gb RAM and the vmware ESX 4-server on.

On the guest system I got a Ubuntu server installation (newest version).

In the ubuntu I have installed the Roverex dserver, which configures Ubuntu in a way that Domino should run fine on it.

But, when I run the command “sudo ./install”, I see this:

You have set DISPLAY to run in graphic mode

But I Type YES to continue in console mode.

InstallShield wizzard is being initialized

Java™ virtual machine is prepared to run.

Then LOTS of dots, which ends with a dot on a single line, and I am back to the prompt which also shows up on the line with the single dot.

Maybe you have had this error too ?

Thanks in advance,

Henrik Bro Larsen

Subject: …

I’ve seen this with a bad image.

Also, in a non-supported environment (But I guessed you already knew that)

Try to run: ‘sudo /install -console’

Also, try to run it directly as root. Not as sudo.

Edit: So you know, the dots are fine. It’s loading Java.
