I’m looking for a little advice. We’re a small software shop that acquired a small group from a larger company. They had been using Domino/Notes 6.5x. Domino messaging hasn’t been used in quite some time but we would like to continue to use Domino for a few custom applications/databases built maybe 10 years ago. We need about 12 users accessing these databases. (really a custom defect tracking database with years of content).
Since we’re retaining the databases/apps but not the physical servers and Domino licenses, what would be our best approach financially and from a migration standpoint. They had all been using Notes clients to access these databases and we will have access to the other companies server for a period of time for migration.
One approach is to migrate all of this historical data to some other system like Trax which will take some effort. However to keep continuity I’d like to see about an affordable Notes Express solution that won’t be too painful to bring up and maintain since we won’t have the in-house expertise and need an affordable for these 12 users.
