Domino Directory in mixed environment with Domino 8.5.1 and Domino 7.0.4

Hello.We have in our company several Domino Servers, most of them being version 8.5.1, but we kept one old machine at version 7.

I have noticed that the Domino Directory is still using the Release 7 template. I would like to upgrade to the latest version to exploit the new possibilities that 8.5.1 provides (eg Widgets, policies etc).

If I upgrade the design to the latest version, can this create any problems with the old machine running still version 7?

I would turn off the design elements and agents in the replication.

That is if you are planning a long term coexistence between both servers. If you plan to upgrade it too, just upgrade the NAB.

Keep in mind you won’t be able to use anything that the server doesn’t support and don’t upgrade the ODS.
