Hi,
We’ve recently upgraded our hub server to R6.01. Everything seemed fine, but recently we discovered a few issues.
Each person document contains following entries in peson’s document short name field:
John.doe
Jdoe
Some people have forwarding addresses set to either internal or external addresses in format another.guy@company.com or somebody@externaldomain.com
Scenario:
User had his internet address in person document set to john.doe@company.com
User jane.doe left company, and john.doe@company.com should collect mail for jane.doe
Forwarding address has been added to jane.doe person document to forward mail to john.doe@company.com
Everything works fine for internal mail, however incoming smtp messages get
“544 Mail for john.doe@company.com rejected for policy reasons” as soon as smtp server sends RCPT TO: john.doe@company.com
Solution:
Forwarding address in jane.doe person document has been changed to John Doe/USR/Organization instead john.doe@company.com
However our address book contains about 15,000 users, so fixing it may be very time consuming. Is there another solution ?
Another problem arises when user has forwarding set to external address:
Scenario:
User Jonh Doe/USR/Organization has short names:
John.doe
Jdoe
and forwarding address set to somebody@externaldomain.com
Mail is accepted, but return message is sent to sender:
Recipient user name john.doe (john.doe@company.com) not unique. Several matches found in Domino Directory.
We found that removing short name john.doe@company.com fixes the problem, but as mentioned above, we have almost 15,000 users….
Any solution for this one ?
Thx for all help…
