When I start the server it ask me for the password, that i don’t want, how I can disable it from Administrator.

Thanks,

Prashant.

The password is on the server’s ID file. To remove it, either (a) launch the server’s local client (domino\nlnotes.exe) or (b) copy the server’s ID to your workstation and switch to it, then use “File | Tools | User ID” to clear the password.

If the server’s Id has been registered with a minimum password quality of more then 0, you will not be not allowed to clear the password, and you’d have to re-register the server.

The fix listed by Bruce seems okay until you get to his ideas concerning minimum passwords and (wow!) re-registering the server.

If there is in fact a minimum password requirement, simply recertify the Server ID, setting the password quality scale to “0”.

After that, you should be able to clear the password as Mr. Stapley said.

Oops! I did type “re-register” instead of “recertify”, didn’t I? I didn’t even notice the typo when I re-read my post before submitting it. Thanks for catching that; I hate to think that Shintoo might have actually re-registered his server based on my typo!

As an attempt at saving some face, I might add that the “Recertify Selected Servers” command on the Actions menu won’t give you the option of changing the password quality; you have to use the “Certify” command on the right-hand Certification menu.
