I plan to add a server to make a mail cluster.The SMTP server is not a Domino server.
The first server is configurated to send the mails to the SMTP gateway, but when this server in the cluster will crash, what will happen ? all the mails will be writen to the other server, and all the mails sent will find the SMTP gateway or must I configure the second server too ?
Also, is it better to make a private LAN when the too servers are in differents sites, or not ?
Are you OS Clustering the servers? If one of the servers is not a Domino server, you can’t create a Domino cluster. If you do create a Domino cluster, if one server goes down, the other in the cluster will pick up the slack. The other way to cluster non-domino servers, is by having a CISCO CSS device in front of the servers.
The OS are not clusterised : Linux redhat and AS/400. The 2 domino servers will be in a Domino cluster.The SMTP gateway is not a Domino server.
If i have understood what you’ve said, all the mails will be send to the other server even if there is not a connection document between the second server and the SMTP ?
