Domino & Anti-spam appliance

Hi

We’re buying an anti-spam appliance to scan all SMTP inbound and outbound mails.

Are there any configuration we should do to our existing SMTP server, so that we receive and send email through the appliance?

Pls help.

Thanks

Rusyinni

For inbound, change your MX record in DNS to point to the appliance, and configure the appliance to send to the Domino server. For outbound, make your Domino server’s relay setting point to the appliance.

I’m not sure about domino 6.53.In domino 8 you can check your domino directory - configuration - messaging - configuration document.

In configuration document, there are router/smtp tab.

In your anti-spam appliance, you have to route all incoming emails to your domain to your domino server.

Why don’t you route your email through an intermediary like messagelabs or frontbridge?

Stops viruses and spam before they even ping your smtp server and are constantly kept up to date.

Cheers

Adam.

Hello, we did the same.In the server configuration settings, in the ROUTER/SMTP tab → BASICS, you should specify in the field the DNS name of your appliance or the ip address.

We use Domino version 7.02 FP2 and it works well…
