Domino Agent to Attach IFS files to a Notes Form

I read this posts and want to know if others have used the idea to attach IFS files to a Notes form via an agent.

Has anyone else done this? What issues do I need to be aware of?

It looks as though the code Cindy provided, actually creates an email with the IFS file attached.

See this thread, if reading/writing directly to an IFS file. http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/55c38d716d632d9b8525689b005ba1c0/87c0167ae6c306d98525718b00684fd6?OpenDocument

Just make sure QNOTES has permissions and dereference your path correctly and you’re good to go. There is even a way to attach from a Windows share in a backend agent running on iSeries, if that’s needed.

Charles what do you mean by “dereference” is that a typo?

I’ve got the agent working when I run it manually.

When I schedule it to run on the server, the agent runs, I get an email, but there is no file attached.

QNOTES has authority to the IFS folder and document being attached

The userid and password used in the ODBC connection has access to the IFS folder and document being attached

My userid has access to the IFS folder and document

For now I have the path to the file I am trying to attach hard coded in the agent script.

AttServer = “Qnfco”

AttPath = “nfreports\MIS”

AttFile = “CYI050_April_2006.pdf”

filename = “\” + AttServer + ""+ AttPath+ "" + AttFile

What am I missing? The path is not on the server Notes is running on, does that make a difference?
