Domino 9.0.1 Embedded Experience with Connections 4.5 CR1

Hi All

We are struggling for the past 10 days to get the Embedded Experiences working in our environment.

I have followed the cookbook, and still I cannot get it working. It seems like there is a problem between my notes clients and the domino shindig server SSO. Shindig and Mail is running on the same server.

I have set the logging to finest in rcpinstall.properties

Below is the error I receive when opening the “Update” widget

Subject: Managed Account is not working

Hi Ryan

Thank you for the reply. I suspected the same issue, and indeed the 401 error is in the client log as well.

I have verified, and the Managed Account gets pushed down to my client correctly.

I have triple checked the setup of the managed account, and have set it up exactly the same way as per the documentation you linked, still exactly the same issue.

The only other place I think the issue may be, is on my Domino SSO it self.

I have internet sites enabled, and a lot of them running. I have one Global LtpaToken, running on all the Internet sites, and single sign on works perfectly. So I am lost.

Subject: Managed Account Is Not Working

Hi Mouritz,

I assume you are seeing 401 errors in the Notes client logs as well? They would be similar to the ones here: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/Troubleshooting_OSC90#CLPEE2012E%3A+An+error+occurred+obtaining+a+security+token+to+access+the+server.+java.io.IOException http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/Troubleshooting_OSC90#CLPEE2012E%3A+An+error+occurred+obtaining+a+security+token+to+access+the+server.+java.io.IOException.

If so than it is definitely the managed account that is not working. If the policy is being applied to the user you are trying to render the Updates gadget with you should see the managed account in your Account preferences when you go to File → Preferences. If you don’t see it there than the problem is with the policy. If you do see it there than the problem is with the way the account is configured or the way the Domino server is configured. In either case I would review the steps to setup the managed account here: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/User-centric_settings_OSC90#Managed+Account http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/User-centric_settings_OSC90#Managed+Account. This document was meant for developers who are setting up a development environment where their mail and Shindig server are on the same box. It does into details about the entire configuration.
