Domino 8.5 Upgrade Issue - Mail files

Upgrading a test clone of our primary notes server from 7.0.3 to 8.5, which contains both apps and mail.

Followed the steps as upgrade guide found here (www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21303385)

performed all of the steps up to installing the server upgrade without any noticeable errors. No errors were encountered during the upgrade of the software.

I was prompted to upgrade the directory design when I started the domino server, and answered yes.

The server is running, and I can connect the admin client to the server. However, I received the following errors for each and every mailbox on the server:

SchedMgr: Error processing calendar profile document in database mail\username.nsf: Note item not found.

I cannot open any mail files from the client. i CAN open our custom applications located in different folders. everything worked when server was still at 7.0.3

I verified the working directory in the ini of the server has not changed. The mail folder and database files do exist.

Any ideas?

Subject: Found solution - but why?

It appears that the “upgrade” process removed all the previous ntf files instead of replacing the templates of the same name. All our mail databases that used inotes6 or dwa7.ntf where that ones that were failing.

I copied those two templates back over from our production server, and everything appears to work.

Is this common? Has anyone else experienced this? Are there other ntfs that I need to look outt for to ensure they still exist after the upgrade?

Subject: It is a bug., you are right.

I corrected it in 8.5.1 - that installation does not remove the previous templates and other DWA related files.Irina Khasin.

Subject: I think this one is documented.

Subject: Good catch!

I found I was missing some of the same files. My users are still on the dwa7 template.
