Domino 8.5.1 Linux

Question: Anyone running 8.5.1 Server (FP3) on 64 Bit RHEL 5.5?

Are you running Domino Anti-Virus Software?

Any chance you are running Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi Platform Edition 3.2?

Symantec Support has told me (right before production roll out) that it’s not certified with 64bit RHEL…

Curious to know if that version is running in production anywhere and if there are problems.

Thanks.

I have that entire platform except for Symantec mail Security. My advice to you is ditch SMS. I did 3 yrs ago, and haven’t looked back. Back then we were on Windows, and SMS was not only a resource hog it caught only a small percentage of actual spam and viruses.

I address the Spam/AV issue by using Postini. I have other clients using Message Labs and AppRiver. All are perfectly good solutions. If your AV software is on all of your clients, and the door is blocked by the services you can deploy a plain vanilla Domino server, and not worry about any add-ons… except backup.

Set your firewall to only allow inbound SMTP connections from the service, and you also get your Internet bandwidth back.
