Hi. I’m hoping someone would be able to assist. We have just upgraded our Domino 8.5 servers to Domino 8.5.1 with Fixpack 4. The servers are running under VMWare. The problem is, after the upgrade the Windows Server CPU is stuck at 100% consistently. No users and access the server and mail routing is incredibly slow (up to 6 hours). Has anyone seen this issue before. I’m wondering if it’s new with Domino 8.5.1 Fixpack 4 as our server were running quite well before the upgrade. Thanks in advance.

Good Afternoon Anthony,
I recommend reviewing Technote 1252786 - “High CPU usage by router and poor performance of Domino under VMware” - which I have included a direct link to below:

Overall, you want to verify whether the CPU is being consumed by the OS or Domino. I understand the Server may have worked without issue prior to applying FP4, but it is something to double check on.
I hope this helps!

Hi Robert, thanks for the quick response and for the link to the VMWare settings. Could it be possible that previous Transactional logging may have caused some corruption and Domino is reporting “dirty” database. I did notice that the CPU seems to be hitting a constant 100% utilization as it is performing consistency checks (we have quite a number of very large databases, approximately 3-4GB in size), and I also noticed that the CPU dropped to about 40% once Domino got through most databases. We also have 5 other servers running in Virtual Machines which we have also upgraded to 8.5.1FP4 with identical configurations and we have no issues at all on those servers.
