Domino 8.5.1 CPU issues

We currently running domino 6.5.6 sp3 for our mail server (Around 300 Mailbox) + BES Enterprise version 4.0.7.13.

This VM’s runs on ESX 3.5 SP4. It’s set up with one Virtual CPU and 4GB of ram.

Our ESX hosts are DL380 with 2 Quad core of 3ghz each.

We have around 200 users concurent and serving 300 mailbox + around 40 blackberry users.

This setup currently runs smoothly, cpu runs around 30-35% avg.

Last weekend, came in, took a snapshot, upgraded BES to version 4.1.7, and upgraded Domino to version 8.5.1.

It’s a no go, CPU stays at a 100% percent with no users on it.

I’ve turned the web upside down, and can’t figure out a way. Finaly aborted, reverted to snapshot.

Any suggestions here would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Subject: Same problem here

Running BES (600 Users) 4.1.7 on Domino 8.5.1 - after a few hours CPU raises up to 100% - both VMware and physical servers are affected. With 8.5.0 Fixpack 1 everything is fine. With 8.5.1 CPU Load after restarting server is approximately 25% higher, after a few hours raising up to 100%.

Subject: No problem here

Although we do not have that many users om our BES we do not have this issue.

Server is Windows 2003 server on VM Ware, BES 4.1.7 and Domino 8.5.1

Specs of VMWare I can give you in Jan 2010

Subject: Same Problem here…

we have same problem with ESX 3.5.x + Windows 2003 Server + Domino 8.5.1After while CPU issue runs to 100%, with no users on it!

additional we have installed Domino 8.5.1 on LINUX and also on same Hardware (also ESX 3.5.x) with NO impact.

an additional installation of domino traveler (also on ESX and windows 2k3) has same behaviour, but we put in 2 virtual CPU and it runs better…with only 50% CPU issue on system but for both vCPU’s - in sum also 100% (impact for real hardware).

any solution?
