Greetings, I have installed Domino 8.5.1 64 bits (2 partition) on a Win2003 64 bits server. Have 8GB physical memory. Upon configuring the Domino Server and startup, the Domino services of nhttp and nserver consumes the memory up to 2.5 GB, before that the OS was at 500+ MB.
Is this the way Domino 8.5.1 64 bits functions by provisioning the memory first before any users connect?
Are there any specific settings I need for the notes.ini? Hope someone can help.
Appreciate the help. Thanks.
- have not touched domino server for a while, stopped using it when it was at 6.5.1.

Subject: Not out of the Ordinary
In a 64 bit environment seeing a task, especially HTTP around the 2GB area is not really something to be concerned with. If you start to see it around 3.4 or higher, Domino could be on it’s way to a crash.
Additionally, are you gathering this information from Windows Task manager? If so, it may not be an accurate portrayal of usage. To get a better read as to how much Shared and Private memory a task may be using, consider running a manual NSD - detach from a command prompt. When the NSD is generated, search on a section called Performance Data. The column Virtual Size is what you want to look at. You may see some numbers at 2.1G. Scroll to the far right to confirm what process it is.
Hope this helps
