When trying to upgrade from Domino 8.0.1 to 8.0.2 today I ran into a strange problem.I started the executable ‘cab’-file and everything unpacks fine into a directory I specified (I usually prefers .\install instead of somewhere in the TEMP directory. Also note that the ‘cab’ was copied to my local C: drive). When unpacked the setup.exe automatically executes and the progression dialog for the installer shows up. Then everything stops leaving me with the java.exe process running. No installer wizard shows up…
I thought this was because my C-drive was full or similar and performed some housekeeping, then tried again. Same thing happends…
Then I tried to doubleclick the setup.jar file. The installer starts fine and I’m able to upgrade the server without a problem.
Anyone who can explain to me what happened here?
