HiWe are about to preform a Domino upgrade from 6.5.x to Domino 7.0.2. There will be no Lotus Notes Client ugrade until next year so Clients will be 6.5.5.
All servers are in the same domain (no cluster) and some servers are at 6.5 and some are at 6.5.5.
Does Domino 7.0.2 require all servers to be at least 6.5.5 if run in a mixed environment or will it be possible to run R6.5 and R6.5.5 and R7.0.2 togeather?

Hi Linda, all of our mail servers are running 7.0.2. All clients will not be upgraded and running 6.0.2 with no issues. The one thing oyu need to be concerned with is the Resource Reservation db. Once you upgrade the Domino server that houses the RR db to 7.0.2, you MUST upgrade the RR database since it now uses the RnRMgr task to route meeting invitations. Also check the Redbook to see which INI variables you can disgard since they are no longer used.
Obviously you won’t have the client functionality that 7 has to offer, but the servers will run more efficient.

and it worked well
your clients can be on R6.5 and not even know the servers are R7
