Has anyone had any experance with using BlackBerry’s Enterprise Server for Domino along with the BlackBerry Model 7750 handheld?
I’m looking for the best solution for replacement of all the expensive notebooks.

We have approx 45 blackberrys deployed and have used them to replace laptops. Users do have the facility to access mail back at headoffice via thinclient though. We have found them extremely resilient and reliable in terms of usage and they deal with attachment functionaility pretty well with new features on the way

Up until about 3 weeks ago, I operated 12 Notes/BES servers servicing 2300 users. The BlackBerry is a wonderful thing, as people can access their email nearly anywhere on something they can carry in their pocket/purse. You can even open simple attachments with the BlackBerry Attachment Service (not a separate product, just an optional install on devices) or more complex ones with third-party products. They can also email someone else’s BlackBerry directly (PIN-to-PIN) when your server is down. There are COOP products out there to use BlackBerry’s to help manage things during ‘incidents’. They come with web browsers (we were testing to see how much load a few hundred users might cause on a server, but I never heard any negative result) so that people can surf while they walk or wait in lines or whatever.
Reportedly, a BlackBerry pays for itself in about 3 weeks because you get so much more productivity out of people with not much additional support.
I miss my 957 (owned by the client) and will probably buy myself a new 6830 so that I can have the email, calendar and phone on me at all times. (I used the notepad to write a lot of my speeches that I gave to my Scout Troop and to take notes in meetings.)
