When we try to install Domino 6.5.5 (c888nna.exe) to upgrade our server (from 6.5.1) which is running Windows 2000, nothing shows up. But the “setup.exe” process is running in Task Manager.
We’ve tried uninstalling Windows Installer which didn’t help. We then tried upgrading to the latest Windows Installer, which didn’t help.
This worked on our other servers that are running Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 from the same Domino version 6.5.1.
Any suggestions of what to try next?

I would check the java version installed on your machine.It’s possible that java installed doesn’t support domino install interface…
Verifies and compares the java versione on 2000 server where 6.5.5 install runs.

I remember having the same problem last spring before installing 6.5.5.
What worked for me was extracting the files from c888nna.exe to a folder. Once you extract the files to a folder, you can copy the folder to a network share or to CD and then copy the folder to your Domino servewr. In the folder (extracted files) I launced the MSI without any problems.
I think it just has trouble extracting and then immediately installing. Extracting first and then installing was the trick.
