I had Domino 6.01 running as a service. I have a new problem. When I look to see if Domino is running as a service it appears to be running as a service, but when I log off of the Windows 2000 Server Domino stops running. It gets shut down. The only thing that has changed is that one of the other administrators has installed Arcserve 9.x and the Open File Agent for Domino. We run this on other Domino Servers and have not had this problem.

Hopefully fixed AGAIN. First I tried to make sure that the service was deinstalled by going to a command prompt and typing ntsvinst -d. Then I reinstalled Domino on top of itself choosing to customize the install so that I could be sure that the programs to run as a service were installed. They were already checked off to be installed. I completed the installation and so far Domino has been up for about 1 1/2 days. We have been loging on and off of the server and the Domino service has not stopped.

Check the following:* Make sure the Domino service is running under the system account

  • Make sure the service can interact with the Desktop

  • Check all Startup menu options to make sure the Domino server does not appear in any of these

It is already setup that way. I finally just reinstalled Domino on top of its self. Looks like it is working properly now.

None of those things have solved my problem - any ideas?

This just worked for me.Go to the Control Panel/Services/Lotus Domino Server/Startup dialog.

First check Logon As “This Account” and OK

Repeat the Startup dialog check Logon as “System Account”, “Allow service to interact with desktop” and OK.

It is already setup that way. I finally just reinstalled Domino on top of its self. Looks like it is working properly now.

Tried that already. It did not work.

We have the same problem with NT 4.0. It started right after some NT service was applied.
