I know is related to “Domain name” field at server document, but is this field at Person document usefull for server operation or just a description.
I’m asking cause I am having a cosmetic issue when send internal messages between users. When I opened the message at destination mail database, the To field has Username/NEWCOMPANY@DOMAIN
… where “DOMAIN” is “Domain name” under server configuration document, and I want to remove the @DOMAIN string.
If I remove “Domain” field from Person document, this is fixed, but I don’t know if this is ok.
Sure, you can remove it - if you don’t want mail to work.
From the Help:
The domain, on a server, specifies the server’s domain. On a workstation, specifies the domain of the user’s mail server. This setting must contain at least one default name.
I understand that some people may not like it, but it is all about mail routing.
Do you mean you DID take the setting out of the domain field in the person document? Just wondering. We had the same problem and I did remove the domain setting. Everything seems to be working fine…
Did you find a better solution to removing @DOMAIN ?
