DOLS Subscription failures

We have several thousands off line accounts most of which synchronise 3 databases without error twice a day. Increasingly they are failing one db which then doesn’t show in the subscription properties. The dol.log on the client PC shows the following:

30/06/2003 12:51:56] <Account Name - Lotus iNotes Sync Task: Adding application files offline>

[30/06/2003 12:51:56] <Account Name - Lotus iNotes Sync Task: Adding directory\DATABASE.NSF to offline; this may take a while…>

[30/06/2003 12:51:56] <Account Name - Lotus iNotes Sync Task: Database is currently being replicated or copied elsewhere (directory\DATABASE.NSF)

The database may be being replicated elsewhere but is not being copied.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated

Subject: More information

It is always the same db that fails, but not always the same server. The only solution so far is to restart the server and re-install the subsciption.

Subject: DOLS Subscription failures

Yes we have the same problem with notes 5.0.11. It occurs only at the installation of inotes. … and ist seems to be an bug.

The only solution is to copy the missing database into the data-directory of inotes. Then restart inotes and the database will be replicated.

Problem:

When multiple users are installing subscriptions via Domino Off-Line

Services, some databases included in the subscription are not downloaded.

Solution:

This problem occurs when the replica copy is requested for download by more

than one user. A resulting error occurs in the DOL.LOG file and the file

is skipped:

"Database is currently being replicated or copied elsewhere … "

Subsequent synchronizations will not replicate documents because the

replica stub does not exist.

This problem does not occur for synchronization of documents. It only

occurs when the database subscription replica is first installed. By

reinstalling the subscription at a different time, the problem is

corrected.

Note: the subscription does not need to be uninstalled first. The

solution is to rerun the “install subscription” choice by right clicking on

the “Go Offline” label via the browser.

Supporting Information:

The DOLS Pre-Installer CD can be used to circumvent this issue.

Note: the solution with the DOLS Pre-Installer dont work … unfortunately

Thanks. Copying the stub for new db’s works a treat.
