Hello,My company uses wyse terminals without a hard drive. All software comes from Citrix servers. I am a Notes designer. They want to switch our Notes administrators from pcs to wyse terminals without any local installs. or they said maybe they can somehow install only the Notes administrator on the wyse.
Does the Notes administrator client work when not installed locally? Wouldn’t the Notes client and the Notes Administrator client need to be installed together?

The admin client isn’t a separate application; when you run admin.exe, it does little more than launch the real notes client – nlnotes.exe – in the domadmin.nsf UI instead of the bookmark.nsf UI.
The Notes client in general does need to be installed locally; requiring the normal Windoze registry entries and all. Also, due to the frequent lookups to the names.nsf, etc, network installs of the Notes client, which were once quite popular, have fallen into disfavor due to latency issues.
I don’t know the details of a wyse install, but I imagine that due to the above reasons, you couldn’t/wouldn’t want to do what you describe.

We also run in a Citrix environment. With version 5.0.11 of notes we did load both the designer and admin client on the citrix servers even though only a few had access. What it does however is publish the icons for both the designer and admin on the left hand side of the framework under the notes client. With going to 6 we made a decision to only run designer and admin locally in order to prevent this problem. An alternative might be to use WebAdmin but with this you need to be running http on each of your servers
