It’s a shortcoming of the product and painful to explain to users that yes, they can print mailing labels (for example), but no, not from their shared contacts database residing on a Domino server. They need to have a local replica of the database if they want to do that. At which point frowns of puzzlement form…
We don’t really want to buy third-party software or write LotusScript code to give the users the functionality they quite reasonably require.
Does anyone know if this is planned to be addressed in a future release of the Notes client? I haven’t found any encouraging references in associated threads in this forum.
