I have two Domino servers and I am going to install a hardware (Cisco) load balancer for load balancing and failover of internet services. However at the backend, I need Domino to keep data in synch, where I am thinking to setup Domino Clustering (not ICM, since I will already have hardware LB) just to take advantage of cluster replication. In Clustering documentation, it talks about keeping replication events in some kind of a cache/log until they are committed.
I am wondering if replication events are only applicable for Notes Client connections or for changes done by Notes clients. Because in my case, there is no Notes client connection, all connections and changes are done by browsers. As soon as a change to a database happens, will Domino Cluster pick that up as a replication event and commit the data (write it in the database and then replicate with the other node of the cluster).
One more thing is that I don’t want Domino Clustering to handle load balancing or failover. As far as I understand these are only applicable when Notes Clients are used, then I shouldn’t be worried. Am I thinking right?
