I’m attempting to add a few New bookmark icons to an existing bookmark folder (see the icon with the Twisty beside it). I have confirmed the desktop policy is pushing out other minor changes to the clients, but the new database bookmarks are not being added to all of the clients? In some cases no new bookmarks are added and in others they are added but not in the order you see here in the screen shot? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?
fyi: The server is Domino 8.5.2 HF23 on Windows 2008 R2 Standard. I’ve tested with notes clients 8.5.3 and 8.5.2 FP2 both on Windows 7 x64.
I used this feature a lot, but it is far away from being perfect.
Is the client receiving policies at all? It can be disabled in notes.ini, then dyncfg will not run at all. (message “Notes Client Configuration has been updated” should appear about 1 minute after client start). Check https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21212699
When you drag and drop the icons to the policy setting doc, the icons are stored including the server information (your stacking order). Maybe you stacked an icon on top from a server that is unavailable to those users?
Managing bookmarks is much more reliable with client admin tools like Panagenda MarvelClient, desktop policy settings often suck.
