Does AJAX works in IE7?

Hi,

It seems that the AJAX code used to do a dblookup

xmlRequest = new XMLHttpRequest();

xmlRequest.overrideMimeType(‘text/xml’);

xmlRequest.onreadystatechange = MyProcess;

xmlRequest.open(“GET”, strURL , true);

xmlRequest.send(null);

do not get anything.

Can yo confirm that ?

You may provide a check as follows:

if(xmlHttpRequest.overrideMimeType){

    xmlHttpRequest.overrideMimeType('text/xml');

}

and also make sure your request returns content type “text/xml” or else you’ll likely to encounter further problems.

Yes native XMLHTTP has been implemented in ie7 instead of ActiveX. So Ajax works without any problems. The problem in your code is the second line xmlRequest.overrideMimeType(‘text/xml’). This method has not been implemented in ie7. Removing this line should work fine.
