Having problem with access of documents (readers field) For some users i have to write the whole Abbreviated Name i.e User1/IT/OU1/O in the readers field and for some users it works fine with only Common Name.
One more thing if there is a change in Abbreviated Name, lets suppose
User1/IT/OU1/O to User1/IT/OU2/O
Then they are having the same prb. with access of documents (readers Field). If i write the new Abbreviated Name i.e.(User1/IT/OU2/O) in the readers fields of existing documents (manually) then only it shows the previous documents.
Waiting for a response. Do let me know if this prb is somewhat related to administration.

also, check the database properties and specify an administration server and be sure to include readers fields - then an admin task will update all names
But one thing do i have to write the server name in the readers field for updating the readers field, inspite of having a manager access to that database or no need to write the server name.
Subject: Abbreviated name does not work in Readers item
I’d use always canonical (CN=) name. That works for sure. Common name works if the Org part of the user name is the same as in the server name. Readers field on the form probably explodes the abbreviated format so that it will be saved as canonical in the doc.
