Hoping that someome may have some ideas on a document lock problem that I cannot resolve.
I have an application that has been in production in ND6/7 environments for a number of years and document locking has worked perfectly. We have recently ported the database across to an ND8.5.1 infrastructure and are having problems with document locking which we cannot resolve.
On ND6/7 we see record locking working perfectly i.e document is initially unlocked, then locked in edit mode and finally unlocked when closed.
On 8.5.1 we see that the record appears to be seen by the client as locked even though there are no $Writers or $WritersData fields present. When going into edit mode the client indicates that the current user already has the document locked and then unlocks the document. On close the document appears to stay unlocked as there are no messages to the contrary in the status bar and the document still has no $Writers or $WritersData saved. If I re-open the document the cycle repeats. The problem is observed by multiple users all running the full 8.5.1 client
The problem appears to be limited to the 8.5.1 client. When I open the same document on the same server (ND8.5.1) via 7.0.2 and 6.5.3 client the document locking works as expected
Has anyone come across this ? Any help with a resolution much appreciated.
