Document lib migration to teamroom

hi all,we are using document library to manage a lot of interesting documents regarding our job. now we want to manage catgories better than in doc.lib with team room. team room seems to be a good tool for us in different situation.

the big question is now, how can we move all that content to team room - including categorie entrys. what we found out is that we have to open each of 1000 dox in edit mode an close. then we can map any category to this document. but all one by one. if there is some information of knowledge how to move this content, it would be great to read it in this forum. thanks for your response!

You could run a simple agent over the main documents in your doc lib to change the form from ‘Document’ to ‘MainTopic’, and then replace the design of the database with the TeamRoom template. Note that response documents use the form ‘Response’ in both designs.

In the TeamRoom setup, you can define the categories you want. If you are not changing them, then all you need to do it to populate the categories list with your existing categories.

To get your existing categories into a text list, open the view by category, collapse all the twisties, and from the menu, choose Edit - Copy Selected as Table. Paste into a rich text field somewhere (eg. a new memo), and then copy & paste just the column containing the categories into the Categories part of the TeamRoom setup.
