Document command is not available

Hi, When i’m trying to print from one of the users machine… It says… document command is not available… But its working fine in my machine.

File-> Print also greyed out in that users machine. That user is able to print documents with other forms in that database… problem is with only 3 forms…

Any help will be appreciated…

thanks,

Kiran

What’s the users access to the database.

Usually if the $KeepPrivate field is set to 1 in a document, then it cannot be printed or copied or forwarded.

Subject: Is it just this database? or any database?

Obvious question, do other applications print ok?

Does Windows have a default printer set?

Yes Carl… for other applications its working well… problem is with only specific forms…

Having Editor Access won’t matter if $KeepPrivate is set.

Also, just because a form doesn’t have a field doesn’t mean the document cannot have the field.

The fact it’s only 2 machines does mean it’s not likely KeepPrivate… But then we would be assuming it’s the same document in every case… Therefore just incase check the following first:

You need to look at the document’s properties to confirm if there is a $KeepPrivate and if it’s set to 1.

(1) Select the document

(2) Right Click and choose document properties

(3) Go to the second tab

(4) Scroll the left window toward the top and find the variables starting with $

(5) Determine if there is a $KeepPrivate.

How can this value get set? If you’ve turned off “Replicate or Copy Documents” in the ACL.

I have seen this problem in the past if someone copies and paste text from a Word Document using a non-standard font. Therefore another solution would be to select the text in a richtext field and try setting it using the Lotus Notes Style tool to see if the problem goes away.
