DocLink not showing up Lotus Notes email

I have one user that is using Lotus Notes 8.5 and can’t see any doclink that is sent to him. The doclink only shows up as a line of text “[Document link: DatabaseName]”. I thought this was 8.5 problem but when I checked with another user that is using 8.5, that user get the doclink and can open it just find.

Is there some kind of setting on Notes that can prevent doclink to show up on the email?

Subject: I’m guessing the user’s mail is getting routed through the SMTP gateway

because it’s sent to their internet mail address rather than their Notes mail address.
