Hello Lotus. Thanks for setting up the R8.5 forum, but do we really need it? . . . I appreciate that there are many significant new features in R8.5 compare to R8, but why the separate forum (e.g. we never had a forum for R6.5)?
The separate R8.5 forum will make it more time consuming to search for topics relating to R8; unless there is a way to search all R8.x forums at once?

I suggest keeping the 8.5 forum since most of the features are very new in 8.5 eg xpages so I end up using this forum exclusively.

I think a big problem now is when searching the forums. I still search in the 6/7 forum first, even though I’m on 8, and this will probably stay the same for a while. Although 8 forum is picking up now, so I do a search there as well.
Redesigning the forum so it’s still got a simple front page list but is obvious which version the post is about would be good so I can browse everything, although failing that a simple search across all forums is essential now

…only if you’re looking at things from the Notes client perspective.
ND6/7 had similar client experiences, 8/8.5 does as well. But the similarity ends there.
One has to consider Mac support, the massive feature introduction throughout the rest of the N/D suite, etc.
DDE and xPages alone warrant a new forum. Throw in DAOS, ID Vault, etc. and 8.5 is radically a different product from ND8.
And when 8.5.1 is launched with a LotusScript debugger, full GZip support, and even more craziness, this will definitely be the best home for it.
Coincidentally, though, this was the 8.5 Beta forum. It simply got renamed when the beta program was finished.

I would like to see a single forum so that I can search a single place for issues, suggestions, tips etc. The forum may need enhancement to include views for 8.0+ or 8.5+ issues only or even pre 8.5, pre 8.0 to assist those that wish to easily filter out that stuff.
