DNS Resolver error in a clustered environment

Hi All

I get this error message03/22/2003 10:27:20 PM Router: Unable to obtain Internet host and domain names

03/22/2003 10:27:20 PM Router: DNS Resolver failed to initialize.: DNS resolver error

and the SMTP outgoing mail is not transferred due to the inability of DNS resolution.

But on the OS Command line with the NSLOOKUP command the domain names are nicely resolved and vcan also establish telnet seesion to the remote hosts SMTP port.

This problem exists only when the cluster is Up and running ,when the servers are removed from the cluster every thing come back to normal…Any one got a SOLUTION ON THIS…THANX IN ADVANCE…

I got this error a while back on a non clustered server and what I did was add a line in the notes ini file and that took away the error. The entry is:DNSSERVER=“ip address of your dns server”

Restart Domino and that cleared it.

Sounds like Domino is trying to find a dns server on your private cluster network.
