When I’m trying to use DMAO with Outlook 2003, when I try and send a message to a Internet Address I get back an error about Invalid or Missing RFC 822 header delimiter.
Inside out outlook I have tried sending this both as an HTML and a Ricj Text message and I get back the same error. In the person document the field format preference for incoming mail is set at Keep in users setting
Has anybody else tried using DMAO for 6.5.2 with Outlook 2003. This is a test lab scenario and I’m using a 6.5.2 server on Windows 2000.

While nobody can make any firm promise that any particular problem will be fixed in any particular release, I think this is caused by the same problem I recently fixed in the code (it’s the same error message). I expect – but do not guarantee! – that the fix will be in 6.5.3.
Meanwhile, there’s nothing I know of that you can do to make it work except don’t use Outlook 2003. Plain text might work.

Did either of you guys get this working?
I’m also trying DAMO with Outlook 2003 on WinXP Pro … my problem is that I startup Outlook, I then choose my profile, and after a LONG time, I then get the app up, OK.
However, if I close Outlook down, and try to re-open it won’t open - I look at the task list and 50meg of mem is sat with outlook.exe
Have you also suffered from the same problem?

Further to my response above - I’ve fixed my immediate problem (turned off auto-check for new mails and I’m fine)
However, I’ve just checked the server mail.box and find a heap of eMails - with exactly the same error message as you 
No idea how to fix it. Tried changing message format from Outlook 2003 and it doesn’t make a difference

If you are reading this and you can help with me sending a couple of test mails to a non-Domino server, you could help!
The mails go from Outlook 2003 to our Domino server no problem. It then sends them on, no problem. But … the problem is that when it left Outlook 2003 via DAMO, the DAMO is trying to create an RFC822 header based off the Outlook 2002/etc internal format which has all changed in Outlook 2003.
Now my thinking, nice and simple, in the interim till Lotus bring out a new version of DAMO.
We can write a COM object (as a plugin for Outlook 2003) or agents in mail.box on Domino, to correctly generate an RFC822 compliant header!
Not difficult at all - I’ve got the resources to do the development and test work.
All I need is someone I can send a good and a bad eMail to, and they can send me them back with all the RFC822 information displayed!

I have this issue after connecting to my mailfile with DAMO and outlook 2003. After the migration 128 messages of my 4074 messages are damaged, no pattern, different dates…So looking forward for DAMO 6.5.3…but what can I do in the meantime? I like to forward you Mark some of the messages…but if I try to forward a message (with 6.5.2 client), I only get an empty document.I do not want to use Outlook 2003, I am not sure if I damage more mail files…great that my systemadministrator told me that we currently have an issue with our backup…

I think the only thing we can do is NOT use Outlook 2003 (as much as I would like to) but change to use Outlook 2002? I think I will do this tonight, and I’ll put a post back in here how I get on (if anyone is interested?)
I wish I knew how to contact the dev staff direct at Lotus - there doesn’t seem to be any forums/discussion areas for long long long-term Lotus BP/consultants to communicate directly??? It always upsets me - I have spent the last 12 years promoting their services!! Yes, 12 years, since end of VERSION 2!

Developers within Lotus, by and large, are too busy developing products to spend a lot of time conversing with any end user who has a beef. This is a public forum with only volunteer participation.
If you want some recognition for your special status as a long-time proponent of our products, as opposed to the Unwashed Masses, post in the Partner forum. The information you received as an IBM Lotus Business Partner should tell you how to get into it. Not only are there IBM staff assigned to process bug reports posted there, but it includes important announcements of interest to partners, and a lot of the non-Lotus members are very knowledgeable – in case you have a question.
And now for the matter at hand: If you consult the system requirements posted on the Lotus website, you will find that Outlook 2003 is not listed as a supported environment for DAMO (Hybrid cloud software for a smarter business | IBM).
We’re working on it. Outlook 2003 internals are significantly different from earlier Outlook versions, causing significant amounts of breakage of existing code.

Yes, but now, what we can do for the problem of corrupt mails.I had the same problem, and a lot of my mails are corrupted (invalid header). I can’t open them with lotus notes, nor internet explorer. With outlook (I uninstall 2003, and install back Outlook 2002 / XP), I have blank massages.
Is there any ways to resolve during you develop a version supporting outlook 2003 ?
