We have a mail-in database of scanned documents, where the documents are stored as PDF attachments to a rich-text field, and we use the Notes Client rather than the web interface.
It works fine, but it would be nice if we could somehow display a preview of the PDF document (thumbnail-style) instead of (or as well as) the PDF icon.
Currently we can’t tell what is in the doc without launching it (can be slow).
Is there any way to do this?
e.g. is there an 3rd-party tool that might do it as a batch job?
Subject: A third-party solution - Import Image 2 Lotus Notes - can do this…
Check out Import Image 2 Lotus Notes (II2LN).
From the online manual , you see that II2LN can support EPS, PS and PDF files via Ghostscript (see topic from online manual here). Below you see a thumbnail of the frontpage of II2LN Users Guide:
You have full controll over thumbnail size, and other features!
