A user reported she could not access E-Mail this morning.
Upon investigation, the user still appears on the People & Groups / People list and all details look okay.
If I go into Files / Mail / the user is no longer listed and I can no longer find her E-Mail database.
Is there a way I can tell when, how and by whom, the database was deleted?
I will try to restore from an overnight backup but fear I may have lost the id file?
Subject: compact?
I’ve seen one instance where compact failed on a mailfile. Instead of a mail\file.nsf, there was a mail\file452.tmp in the data directory. Did you check the file system, is there a .tmp file in the mail directory?
Subject: Disappearing Mail File?
Check in the administration requests database and have a look at all actions by server.
It might have been done at OS level …
More than likely it’s been moved by accident to another folder. Try doing an OS search for it.
Subject: Disappearing Mail File?
I have found the ID file…I am recovering the user’s database from two days ago…I have looked in the Administrator logs and there is no evidence of the user being deleted.
I have since discovered that this is the second time this has happened to different users in the past few months.
Can a user accidently delete themselves by any chance?
